[SPOILERS AHEAD]
‘90s kids probably had the same thrill I had being able to watch “Clueless”’ star Alicia Silverstone after a long hiatus, in a holiday romcom… supported by no less than Melissa Joan Hart, another ‘90s icon.

Kate (Sliverstone) and Everett (Oliver Hudson) are a married couple going through a divorce during what is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year.
Can you imagine spending the holidays going through a breakup – or worse?
Many of us probably have gone through something different yet also difficult.
The loss of a job, a business, or a dream.

In their case, Kate had given up her own architectural career in the city so that they could move back to Everett’s home town where he can work as a doctor. She realizes that after several years of putting her own dreams on the backburner, she was unhappy.
By this time, Everett is already dating a glamorous younger woman, Tess (Jameela Jamil);and Kate meets earnest, hardworking, if not naïve, Chet (Pierson Fodé), while doing some errands for Christmas. With these potential new love interests, a dinner party, a house fire; the husband and wife start reevaluating their decision to separate.

The holidays hit different when you’re in a relational conflict, especially with the people closest to you. You can have all the fancy Christmas dinner parties, expensive gifts, exotic holiday travel, but when you have a relationship that is not right, you won’t be able to enjoy them fully.

Christmas is not just a season of celebration, but reconciliation, because it is first and foremost a celebration of the earthly birth of the Prince of Peace. Christmas is a reminder of how God reached out to sinful man, through the birth and sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross. It's the start of the Savior’s life on earth, and His death on the cross and resurrection gives us new life, if we believe in it.
Romans 5:10 English Standard Version
“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”

The truth is, the most important reconciliation and the most important relationship you can ever have is with God, and you can have it through no other way but through His Son, Jesus.
John14:6 English Standard Version
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
1 John 5:12 English Standard Version
“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

Do you want the Prince of Peace to fill you with His life and peace that transcends all understanding, a peace that does not depend on outward circumstances, but based on the security that you have lasting peace with God?
If so, pray this with us:
“Thank You for this season that reminds me of how You reached out to me when I could not reach You. I know that my sin separates me from You, and I want that reconciliation with You. I believe in Jesus Christ who died for my sins and rose on the third day, I receive You as Savior and Lord, and receive eternal life.”
If you prayed this prayer, we're excited to hear from you about your new, or renewed relationship with God! This is the best Christmas gift any of us can ever get.
